Heather Huff, MA, MFTi #89097

I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern and Counselor-in-Residence at The Relational Center in Los Angeles. There, I provide therapy and education to adults and adolescents from a broad range of backgrounds. I offer therapy individuals, couples & intimate parnters, and groups; as well as leading trainings for other clinicians. I train on the topics of sex, sexuality, gender, relationship orientation, privilege & marginalization, and intersectionality.

I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, with a concentration in Applied Community Psychology. I received my B.A. in Psychology with a focus in LGBT studies from AULA, and prior to that, completed the course work for the substance abuse counseling certification program at California State Dominguez Hills University.

My work is also informed by my experiences volunteering abroad, where I have had unique opportunities to expand my understanding of the human experience. In 2010, I spent time working with the NGO WoMen Against Rape; the only rape crisis center in Botswana. There, I worked with community leaders to develop and implement a training for local counselors and social workers around the issues of alcoholism as they impact the individual, the family, and the community.  Our trainings also focused on the relationship between alcoholism and a high incidence of violence against women in the area. And in 2013, I traveled to Haiti to support the post-earthquake rebuilding effort. There, spent time learning about trauma resiliency in a community context.
